On March 8, 2003, Donald & I begain our 8-day sojourn through Mexico. We drove past Guadalajara, to the shores of Lake Chapala and the village of Ajijic.
(say "ah-hee-HEEK")
Photo is in the Garden Restaurant at the Posada Nueva, one of the best in town.
This sleepy village is quickly filling with retirees from US and Canada, but who could blame them? Ajijic is beautiful.
Lake Patzcuaro is one of the major crafts areas in Mexico. The lakeshore in the photo is dotted with villages, each producing a different craft. Copper from Santa Clara de Cobre, reed work from Zintzuntsan, and masks from Tocuaro.
